Ruby Damaged Reaches P3.2-B

Philippines (Dec. 12, 2014) — The damage caused by typhoon “Ruby” has reached P3.2 billion with thousands of homeless Filipinos still staying in evacuation centers, but top disaster management officials said there is no need to declare a state of national calamity.
Retired Navy Admiral Alexander Pama, executive officer of the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC), said even the international community appears to be appreciating the government response that led to the minimal human casualties.

Tropical Storm Ruby Updates as of Dec 10 2014

December 10, 2014 — At 4:00 AM Today, Tropical Storm “RUBY” was estimated based on all available data at 370 km west of Calapan City, Oriental Mindoro (13.7°N, 117.8°E), with maximum sustained winds of 65 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 80 kph. It is forecast to move west at 20 kph. Northeast monsoon affecting Northern Luzon.
