February 2, 2015 — THE trough of a low pressure area (LPA) will bring moderate to occasionally heavy rains over some areas in Visayas and Mindanao, the state weather bureau said Monday.
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said the provinces of Bohol and Leyte in the Visayas may experience moderate to occasionally heavy rains.
It added that the rest of the Visayas, meanwhile, will be cloudy with light to moderate rains.
Pagasa said the regions of Caraga and Northern Mindanao may also experience rainy weather that can trigger possible landslides and flashfloods.
“Residents in these areas and DRRMCs (Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council) concerned are advised to take appropriate action,” it said.
The Philippines was last visited by a typhoon in January this year. - SunStar
