January 21, 2015 — At least P30.3 million in agriculture was destroyed in parts of Eastern Visayas in the wake of Tropical Storm Amang (Mekkhala), the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council said Tuesday night.
In its update, the NDRRMC also said most bridges and roads affected by the storm are now passable, except for one road in Catanduanes and one bridge in Iligan City.
The NDRRMC said Amang caused P30,344,570.49 in damage to agriculture in Samar, Eastern Samar, and Northern Samar.
It said the death toll remained at two, while 25,201 families or 106,808 people were affected in Bicol and Western, Central and Eastern Visayas.
Of these, 105 families or 420 people are being served inside and outside two evacuation centers.
At least 48 houses were destroyed while 490 were damaged. - GMA Network
