Capacity Building for Barangay Level Disaster Risk-Sensitive Shelter Planning

The partnership of ALTERPLAN, DIB, PHILSSA and NFR is seeking cities in the Philippines where the physical, political, and socio-economic conditions show possibilities for the Barangay DR-SSP methodology to make the most impact. Civil society organizations and their partner local governments in these cities are invited to signify their interest in participating in a capacity building program to prepare shelter plans using this methodology.

It is hope of the partnership that with the participation of more cities, this multi-stakeholder approach will eventually be in the mainstream of local development planning processes in Philippine cities and municipalities.

Date to remember
12-13 June 2014 - Participation of the prospective partner cities/municipalities in a Forum for Sharing of Shelter Experiences by Cities and Municipalities
