SYDNEY, Australia (Oct. 12, 2015) — Australian doctors on Monday, October 12, ramped up pressure on the government over its hardline policy on asylum-seekers, saying children they treat from immigration centers should not be returned to detention where conditions could harm them.

UNITED NATIONS (Sept. 30, 2015) — The G7 group of leading economies and Gulf states pledged $1.8 billion in funding Tuesday, September 29, for UN aid agencies helping Syrian refugees.

TRIPOLI, Libya (Sept. 29, 2015) — The Libyan coastguard said it rescued 346 migrants on Tuesday, September 29, almost 100 of them women and children, crammed onto rubber boats and stranded off the country’s coast.
