Director Purita S. Licas of the Philippine Information Agency (PIA) presented to the participants the joint effort of PIA-DENR on Climate Change Advocacy Campaign, its scope, duration, challenges and desired outputs.
She said climate change is the most serious and most pervasive threat facing humanity today and if left uncontrolled, impacts to human and nature are unprecedented and will continuously affect lives of future generations.
“With our intensive campaign, we are optimistic that Cagayan Valley residents will gain more awareness and understanding of this phenomenon or the ‘new normal’ that presently affects us and the whole world,” she added.
Licas also urged all participants to demonstrate possible actions in providing vulnerable communities with the right knowledge and information on the impacts of Climate Change. - PIA
