KABUL, Afghanistan (Jan. 21, 2016) —Mourners in the Afghan capital held emotionally charged funeral ceremonies Thursday, January 21, for 7 employees of popular TV channel Tolo who were killed in a Taliban suicide bombing, which rights groups denounced as a “war crime”.

Residents of Madaya, Syria say they have no food, no water, and no electricity

MADAYA, Syria (Jan. 12, 2016) — The first trucks of aid entered the besieged Syrian town of Madaya on Monday, January 11, where more than two dozen people have reportedly starved to death, as the UN called for hundreds to be evacuated for medical treatment.
